Today’s blog post is a bit short, but very important if you are running any sort of virtualization for your Mac and xCode portions of iOS production. Keep in mind that Apple does not allow you to run virtualized OS X on anything but Apple brand hardware, but should you need to do this for development purposes, it is a simple unlock script for ESXi 5 that is used.

Everything you need is on the thread linked here to Insanely Mac’s forums. Once you do that, you can now install OS X into a virtual machine. I recommend using Snow Leopard personally for performance reasons. Lion works, but boy does it run painfully slow without good 3D support! Mountain Lion was even worse.

Unfortunately, this probably means I’m going to need to purchase a development Mac here soon because Apple has stopped updating xCode for Snow Leopard.
