My First Paycheck as an Apple Developer

In today’s blog post, I’m going to brag a little. Don’t worry, it isn’t much to brag about, but I still find it cool that I can “take things to market” so easily as a Developer. Apple really has something amazing here, which others obviously see as App Stores are cropping up everywhere these days.

My iOS Development adventures began mid-January when I began coding my VCP5 zApp. This zApp was released on January 31, 2012. I quickly learned about Apple’s marketing iAd campaign, and integrated advertisements into VCP5 on the very next release a month later on February 4th. Like most payouts, there is a delay on processing, and today I received my very first paycheck for Ads displayed in the month of February, which is almost exclusively due to VCP5. It isn’t much, of course, but it’s a start. Of course, the real money didn’t start rolling in until Whipped zApp was released, but that is another story for another time.
